Abstract
In order to investigate the early, screening effects of blood examination for the lead intoxication of male lead workers, blood samples were analysed from 85 male lead workers who worked in metal manufacturing industries. The lead levels in the air samples and blood samples were analyzed by flame and flameless atomic absorption spectrophtometer(Varian 300 Plus. USA),
Blood chemistries and hematologic examinations were done by Reply(Olympus 510-07, Japan) and Sysmax K-4500.
Blood lead levels were classified to normal level ( below 22.0 vg/dl). medium level ( 22.0 --40.0 Pg ~d] } and high level(above 40.0 ug/dl ), and compared to the blood chemistries and hematologic values.
1. Of the total 85 male lead workers, 42.4% were normal level, 32.9% were medium level and 24.7% were high level.
The blood lead level of below 5 year work tenure group was lower than that of above 5 rF year work tenure group. But age, smoking and alcohol drinking did not affects for the blood lead levels.
2. sGOT, hemoglobin, hematocrit and red blood cell showed statistically significantly differences from blood lead levels, but all of mean blood examination values were within normal limit
3. There showed no statistically significantly differences for the correlation analysis between blood lead levels and blood examination values.
4. In multiple regression analyses, the important affecting factors for the blood lead levels were sGOT, hemoglobin and allcahne phosphatase.
For the Conclusion, there showed no statistically significantly differences between blood lead levels and blood examination values, blood examination values can not use for the early screening tests of the lead intoxication of lead workers.
